Unfortunately, these two things get more and more tedious the more you progress through the game as the game introduces more party members and more pieces of equipment for you to sift through.Ĭombat and upgrading became an absolute chore at the end of the game, to the point where I tried to avoid as many enemies as I can and only upgraded equipment on one character. It's also fun to pick out equipment and then upgrading them for each character and their playstyles.
At first, it's fun to set up artes (skills) and combos for different enemy types. The ones that stuck out for me was Velvet's theme (and it's variations), Southern Time Passes Slowly, and of course, The Way of Katz. The characters are fleshed out and well developed, even the supporting ones.
It made me laugh and cry, it made me feel excited, and it made me fall in love with the characters. I genuinely haven't felt so emotional for a game's story for a long time but this game was a different case. The story, characters, dialogue, and voice acting (Japanese) are amazing.
